Research Seminars

BTA regularly contributes to the academic community by presenting at various seminar series within the University. We have been featured in seminars such as the Inflammation and Ageing series and the Rheumatology Reading Group, where we share our latest research findings and methodologies. Additionally, we run our own Computational Pathology seminar series, which focuses on the latest advancements in the intersection of computational methods and tissue analysis.

We are always eager to broaden our reach and are open to presenting at other seminar series to make our work more accessible to researchers across different disciplines. If you are interested in having BTA present at your seminar, please get in touch with us: bta@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Technology Provider Sessions

Collaboration with leading technology providers is central to our mission of staying at the forefront of spatial biology. BTA has partnered with industry experts to deliver seminars and workshops that highlight the latest tools and technologies in the field. Notable collaborations include sessions with Akoya Biosciences, Menarini, nanoString, and Visiopharm. These events provide valuable insights into the practical applications of new technologies and allow participants to engage directly with the experts behind these innovations.

We are committed to continuing these collaborations and welcome opportunities to work with additional technology providers in the future.

Training Courses

BTA is dedicated to equipping researchers with the skills they need to excel in the rapidly evolving field of spatial biology. We are actively involved in the BEAR Carpentry courses at the University Â鶹¾«Ñ¡, where our staff have contributed to sessions such as "Software Carpentry - R" and "Software Carpentry - Image Processing with Python." These courses provide participants with essential computational skills tailored to the needs of biomedical research.

In addition to our involvement in established courses, we are open to designing new training programs or providing specialist one-on-one support to meet specific research needs. If you have a particular training requirement, we are here to help you develop the expertise needed to advance your work.

Public Engagement

At Birmingham Tissue Analytics (BTA), we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists and making our work accessible to the wider community. We have proudly hosted Year 12 and 13 students through the College of Medicine and Health's "Pathways to Birmingham" scheme, offering them hands-on experience in the field of spatial biology. Beyond this, we are open to hosting students from outside the scheme, providing them with unique opportunities to explore cutting-edge research.

We also actively encourage our staff to engage in public outreach. Our team members have participated in a variety of external programs, including STEM Ambassadors, in2scienceUK, and art exhibitions that bridge the gap between science and the public. These activities are crucial in fostering a broader understanding of our work and its impact on society.
