DESCRIPTION:The University Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ School is hosting a series of research events intended to engage teachers with current research from the University Â鶹¾«Ñ¡.\n
 Dr Clara Jørgensen will discuss the links between school space(s), inclusion and young people’s social relationships, with a specific focus on children and young people with special educational needs. The presentation is based on findings from Our School – Our space – a research project carried out by Julie Allan and Clara Jørgensen at the University Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ School. As part of the presentation, participants will be asked to reflect on their own perspectives on school space(s) in relation to social and academic inclusion of children with special educational needs.\n
 Biography\n
 Dr Clara Jørgensen is a Research Fellow within the Department of Disability, Inclusion and Special Needs at the University Â鶹¾«Ñ¡. She is a social anthropologist of background and has done qualitative and ethnographic research with children and young people in a range of educational settings including in the UK, Spain and Latin America, where she has explored issues of educational inequality, school policy, school drop-out, children and young people’s schooling experiences and friendships.\n
