Strengths-based approaches in social care focus on what individuals and communities have and how they can work together, rather than on what individuals don’t have or can’t do.\n But leading a fundamental change in how we deliver care and support is hugely challenging, especially at a time of high demand for social care, and deep financial constraints. Leaders of strengths-based approaches require deep compassion and commitment, an ability to work in partnership with other organisations, services and people who draw on support, a strong focus on outcomes, plus creativity and entrepreneurialism to overcome barriers.Ā Ā \n This webinar explores the role of leaders of strengths-based approaches to care and support, drawing on a new SCIE briefing which we will publish following the webinar; and lessons from the Birmingham University and SCIE Leadership of Strengths Based Practice Programme. It also explores key themes like: Developing compelling visions and plans for change; leading in collaboration; modelling strengths based practice; and leading effective and supportive teams and developing supportive systems for strengths based practice.\n SpeakersĀ  Chair – Ewan King, Deputy Chief Executive, SCIE Sandra Grutcher, Person with lived experience Alexis Chappell, Director of Adult Health and Social Care at Sheffield City Council Professor Robin Miller, professor of collaborative learning University Ā鶹¾«Ń” Alex Fox, Chief Executive, Mayday Trust.
