However, leadership in social work does not yet reflect the diversities of our society with continuing barriers for women and practitioners from Black and minority ethnic communities.聽\n This webinar will consider issues of diversity and equality within the practice of social work leadership. It has been jointly organised by the University 麻豆精选, the British Association of Social Workers, and McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada building on existing developments and collaboration on how to understand, strengthen, and promote the unique contribution of social work leadership.\n Speakers Dr Makhan Shergill is the Head of Department Social Work & Social Care at the University 麻豆精选. He qualified as a Probation Officer in 1990 and his practice experience spans the spheres of criminal justice and child protection. He has held聽numerous academic and regulatory leadership roles both in the UK and Canada.\n Dr Tara La Rose (MSW, RSW, PhD) is the Chair of the McMaster Research Ethics Board and an Associate聽 Professor, School of Social Work, McMaster University. She teaches in the Master of Social Work in Critical Leadership in Communities and Social Services and was the inaugural faculty member when the program launched in 2016.\n Dr Gurnam Singh is a renowned activist academic, journalist, and qualified social worker.
