DESCRIPTION:All are invited to a day of researching Africa and the study of democracy at the University Â鶹¾«Ñ¡, 10:00am to 6:00PM on 11 October 2023.\n \n Co-organized by IDD, CEDAR, DASA and the Midlands African Studies Hub (MASH), the day starts with a PhD workshop on the risks and opportunities of researching politics (and democracy) in challenging contexts and ends with a talk and book launch by two highly respected colleagues who are visiting us especially for this event, Nicolas van de Walle of Cornell University, and Lise Rakner of the University of Bergen.\n
