Mathematical Biology grants

The Mathematical Biology and Healthcare Group has received a number of research grants from funding bodies over the years.

  • Dr Fabian Spill was awarded £1,066,071 for the BBSRC-funded project . It lasts from February 2021 until January 2025.
  • Dr Fabian Spill was awarded £382,134 for the MRC-funded project . It lasts from May 2021 until June 2024.
  • Professor Tom Montenegro-Johnson was awarded £996,799 for the Leverhulme Trust-funded project . It lasts from December 2020 until November 2025.
  • Dr Paco Fernandez-Trillo and Dr Sara Jabbari were awarded £179,747 for the Leverhulme Trust-funded project . It lasts from June 2020 until; December 2023.
  • Dr Sara Jabbari and Professor David Smith have a project with Proctor and Gamble entitled Multi-Input Multi-Output Model-Based Adaptive Control with Non-Linear Models, which funds a PhD studentship. It lasts from September 2019 until September 2025.
  • Professor Tom Montenegro-Johnson was awarded £229,916 for the EPSRC-funded project . It lasted from May 2018 until May 2020.
  • Professor Tom Montenegro-Johnson was the co-ordinator of the €2,994,965 ERC-funded project . It lasted from October 2018 until March 2022.
  • Dr Sara Jabbari was part of the team that was awarded £402,443 for the MRC-funded project . It lasted from march 2017 until September 2020.
  • Professor David Smith was awarded £958,032 for the EPSRC-funded project . It lasted from June 2016 until June 2022.
  • Dr Sara Jabbari was awarded £405,201 for the BBSRC-funded project . It lasted from September 2015 until November 2018.
  • Professor Rosemary Dyson was awarded £97,682 for the EPSRC-funded project . It lasted from November 2014 until November 2016.
  • Professor David Smith was awarded £97,225 for the EPSRC-funded project . It lasted from January 2013 until March 2014.
  • Professor Rosemary Dyson was part of the team awarded £588,371 for the BBSRC-funded project . It lasted from September 2012 until October 2015.
  • Dr Sara Jabbari was awarded £385,071 for the MRC-funded project . It lasted from June 2011 until May 2014.
  • Professor David Smith was awarded £318,437 for the MRC-funded project . It lasted from July 2006 until January 2010.
