Dr Luo obtained his PhD in Mathematical Sciences from Durham University in 2018, for his thesis, 'Polaron Dynamics in the Alpha Helix: Models of Electron Transport in Hydrogen-Bonded Polypeptides'. He became a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy while working on his PhD. From October 2018 to September 2021, Dr Luo worked as a Research Fellow in the School of Mathematics, University 麻豆精选, then as a Teaching Fellow. He became a Lecturer in 2023.
