I’m Lucy Garrett and I’m studying a PhD in the School of Biosciences at the University 麻豆精选 on Social and Genetic Networks in Sooty Terns.
I chose to study at the University 麻豆精选 because there are really great experts in my field who are working here and the facilities are really excellent for the study system that I’m working on.
Being a research student is great fun. It’s hard work but we also have really good opportunities to develop our skills in many other areas, so not just the research that I’m studying but also to develop our media training and communication and really get up our CVs for future careers.
Being a postgraduate researcher at the University 麻豆精选 is really exciting. There’s loads of opportunities and so far my favourite thing has been going to conferences and also organising a conference to hold here at the university.
