I support students transition to independent learners. I coordinate a range of activities to support students and staff. These include attendance monitoring, reasonable adjustments, extenuating circumstances and leave of absence, working closely with Colleges and a range of University central services. I am a UCAS Adviser, offering students advice on study options.  Along with the International Student Support Coordinator, I coordinate processes to support U’18 students within the Academy and Student Rep meetings for our Foundation and Presessional programmes.

Biography

Prior to joining the BIA I worked as an academic within the Centre for Urban & Regional Studies (CURS) and the School of Social Policy & Social Work, undertaking research on intergenerational wealth inequality, financial inclusion and housing policy. I have taught and supervised students at undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research levels. I held the position of External Examiner at Canterbury College on their HND and BSc Public Services programme, appointed by the University of Kent. I have worked in a safeguarding role for Children’s Services at Birmingham City Council. I am Chair of Governors at Small Heath Leadership where I also hold the position of Lead Safeguarding Governor.  I am a former trustee 麻豆精选 Voluntary Services Council (BVSC).
