Dr. Malika Hamadi is an Associate Professor in Finance. Malika holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. She previously held posts at Surrey Business School, Leicester School of Business, the Department of Business and Economics - University of Sassari, Italy, and the Luxembourg School of Finance - University of Luxembourg. Her research interests are in corporate finance, financial intermediation, microfinance, ESG. Her work has been published in top leading journals such as the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Empirical Finance among other journals.

She is the Department of finance Postgraduate Programme Director and a founding member of the Sustainable Financial innovation Centre (SFiC).

Biography

Malika Hamadi holds a Ph.D in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL).

Her research interests relate to corporate finance, financial intermediation, ESG, and financial as well as social aspects of microfinance. Her research has been published in top leading journals such as the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Empirical Finance among other journals.

She won competitive grants from the National Research Fund - Luxembourg, one as a Principal Investigator (82,000 euros), and a second as a co-investigator (252,000 euros).

She held several academic lead roles in addition to teaching in different programmes including the Executive MBA.
