Jing-Ming joined Birmingham Business School in July 2016. Before joining the University 麻豆精选, Jing-Ming was an Associate Professor in Finance at Southampton Business School and a Lecturer at Durham University Business School.

He has taught several different modules at both UG and PG levels, including MSc Quantitative Finance, MSc Quantitative Research Methods for Finance, MSc Management of Financial Risk, MSc Behavioural Finance and Economics, MA Financial Management, MSc Financial Modelling and Business Forecasting, UG Corporate Finance, UG Quantitative Methods in Finance, UG Futures and Options, UG International Corporate Governance and MSc Ethics, Governance and Regulations in Treasury.  

He also served as seminar organizer, Senior Academic Tutor, MSc Finance Programme Director, Director of Postgraduate Programmes, Director of Education, and Deputy Director of the Research Center of Behavioural Economics and Finance during the last few years. Before undertaking his MSc and PhD, he gained many years' work experience in a market research centre and in a commercial bank.

Jing-Ming's research interests lie in Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Behavioural Finance, Asset Pricing, Investment, Derivatives Markets, Applied Financial Econometrics, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Finance.

His research investigates corporate finance and corporate governance issues, factors resulting in abnormal returns and special phenomena and trading activities in stock and derivatives markets, Applied Financial Econometrics, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Additional areas of research include financial modelling for stocks and derivatives, and issues in earnings management and M&As activities etc.

Jing-Ming has regularly presented working papers and served as a chair or discussant at international conferences such as the Financial Management Association (FMA) annual meeting, the European Financial Management Association (EFMA) annual meeting, the American Accounting Association (AAA), the British Accounting & Finance Association (BAFA) annual conference, and the World Finance Conference. He has also acted as a referee for several academic journals or associations and obtained several internal and external research grants in related research areas. He already has got sixteen PhD completions and many of his PhD students have gone on to gain lectureships in other UK universities or positions in research institutions/trading companies.
