Dr Lim is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Cardiovascular Sciences with interest in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. He is the Standards and Guidelines Committee Associate Chair of the and a member of the Heart Failure Task Force. Nationally, he is a member of UK Cardiogenic Shock Working Group, the Cardiothoracic Advisory Group and a Member of the Cardiology Medical Advisory Panel for the Department for Transport.

Dr Lim has research interest in heart transplantation, pulmonary circulatory physiology and mechanical circulatory support. He has presented at international conferences and published in this field.

Other activities

Dr Lim is the Associate Chair of the Standards and Guidelines Committee of the ). In this role, Dr Lim oversees the development of international consensus documents and guidelines in the Society. In addition, Dr Lim is a member of the ISHLT Membership Task Force to develop a new membership structure for the Society, with the aim of improving access of clinicians from low or middle income countries to ISHLT resources.

Dr Lim is an Editorial Board Member and Reviewer for the . Reviewer for , , ASAIO Journal and Artificial Organs.
