Dr Kim Roper is a Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry within the School of Pharmacy. She carries out research in organic chemistry focussing on the synthesis of small molecules and is involved in the development and delivery of the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) undergraduate degree programme.

Kim has very strong background in organic synthesis, having been trained in some of the leading synthetic chemistry groups in the UK and Australia. She has expertise in flow chemistry and her research interests centre around in new synthetic methods, particularly using photochemistry to make or activate novel drug molecules. 

Qualifications

  • PhD in Organic Chemistry, University of Cambridge, 2013
  • MSci in Natural Sciences (Chemistry), University of Cambridge, 2008

Teaching

  • Medicinal Chemistry within the MPharm degree (Chemistry for Pharmacists 1 and 2)
  • BSc/MSci in Chemistry
