Dr. Alexander Krull is Assistant Professor in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University 麻豆精选's School of Computer Science. He is a member of COMPARE. His research focuses on developing advanced methods for image analysis and denoising, particularly for microscopy applications. Dr. Krull is a pioneer in establishing self-supervised and unsupervised denoising methods that do not require clean reference images for training.  Notably, he introduced , a self-supervised approach that enables denoising from unpaired noisy images without the need for clean targets. In more recent research, Dr. Krull works on utilising generative image models for unsupervised denoising, leading to approaches such as  and , which are capable of accounting the inherent uncertainty of the denoising problem. Dr. Krull’s contributions have been widely utilised in the life science community. His work has significantly advanced the application of deep learning techniques in biomedical imaging.
