After completing my PhD in 2016 I worked as a Visiting Lecturer and Teaching Associate. I was appointed as a Teaching Fellow in 2019.

I teach on a wide range of undergraduate modules, including Restoration and Revolution, Shakespeare: Elizabethan and Jacobean, Renaissance Poetry, Epic Ambitions, Shakespeare's Sisters, Gothic, Prose, and Poetry. I am the convener of the Women's Writing module, and next year will be co-convening a new third-year option on Daphne du Maurier.

I am currently co-supervising Dominic Boden-Tebbutt’s PhD project, ‘Masochean Masochism and the development of female agency in Restoration Comedy’.

I welcome enquiries about supervising projects in Restoration and early modern literature.

My particular research interests are Restoration drama and literature, early modern culture, and manuscript studies. My monograph, Playing Politics: Restoration Drama and Innovation, 1670–71 is scheduled for publication by Manchester University Press in 2025. The book arises out of my AHRC-funded doctoral thesis, focusing on the 1670-71 theatrical season, and examining the cultural, political, and literary tensions that fuelled, and were reflected in, the season’s plays. 

I am part of the editorial team of The Cambridge Edition of the Works of Aphra Behn (2020–), for which I have edited the anonymously published Counterfeit Bridegroom (1677) for Volume 2 (forthcoming); I am also editing The Revenge (1680) for Volume 4.

Alongside articles on Restoration drama and satire, my published research has focused on archival research, exploring networks of manuscript transmission and the compilation of poetry miscellanies in the seventeenth and early-eighteenth centuries. I have also written on the newly recovered manuscript of the academic drama Lingua (1607); I am preparing an edition of the play for publication by the Malone Society. 

I sit on the University's Academic Appeals Committee and am the English Department's Staff-Student Liaison lead. I am a member of the Centre for Renaissance and Early Modern Studies and the Centre for Literary Editing and the Materiality of the Text.
