Anna Metcalfe is a short story writer and novelist. Her story collection, Blind Water Pass, includes the story 'Number Three', shortlisted for the Sunday Times Short Story Award. Her debut novel, Chrysalis, will be published in 2023.

Biography

Anna Metcalfe's short stories have been published in Lighthouse Journal,听Tender,听The Best of British Short Stories,听The Dublin Review, The Short Anthology聽补苍诲听The Lonely Crowd聽among other places. In 2014, she was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Short Story Award. Her first book, a collection of short stories, Blind Water Pass, was published by John Murray in May 2016. Her first novel,听Chrysalis, is published by Granta in the UK in 2023. Prior to joining the University 麻豆精选, she taught literature, creative writing and critical theory at the University of East Anglia, Norwich.

Research

I write prose fiction. My debut novel,听Chrysalis, is 'a story about solitude and selfhood, and about the blurred line between self-care and narcissism'.
