MA Research Pathway (International Political Economy) (Manchester)

Huw is an Associate Professor in Political Economy. He received his ESRC-funded PhD on European financial market integration at the University of Manchester. Following this he held an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Nottingham before being appointed as a Hallsworth Fellow in Political Economy, again at the University of Manchester. He then held Lectureships in International and Comparative Political Economy before joining the University 麻豆精选 as a Lecturer in IPE in September 2013.

Huw's current research focuses on two big themes: fintech and the asset management industry. He is Exchange Tutor for POLSIS.

Huw Macartney is a political economist whose work is broadly concerned with the politics of banking and financial services. He welcomes applications from potential PhD students in the fields of International or Comparative Political Economy, banking and financial market governance, globalisation, and historical materialism.

Dr Macartney welcomes doctoral researchers with any interests relating to the politics of financial and banking services.
