Dr Nekisa Zakeri is a Clinician Scientist and Honorary Consultant Hepatologist at the University 麻豆精选, with a research and clinical interest in Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Nekisa completed her specialty clinical training in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation at the Royal Free Hospital London and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham as a NIHR Clinical Lecturer.
Nekisa was awarded a PhD in Liver Immunology from University College London, examining tissue-resident gamma delta T cells in the liver, funded by a Wellcome Trust PhD Clinical Research Fellowship. Nekisa has subsequently obtained a Wellcome Early Career Award, Cancer Research UK Postdoctoral Research Award, and LifeArc Pathfinder Award, to pursue her research focussing on gamma delta T cell immunotherapy for Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
Nekisa is currently also a Visiting Scientist at the Francis Crick Institute London, and she is a committee member for HCC UK and the Young Investigator Steering Committee of the International Liver Cancer Association.
