Research Activity
Tissue Computational Modeling
With funding from the European Commission and the National Natural Science Fund in China, Xianfang develops a computational modeling of the skull and brain tissue, e.g. cranial cavity, dura mater separately at the University 麻豆精选 and University of Science and Technology Beijing. She uses solid modeling and finite element analysis to optimise tissue model, and has experience of working within the mathematical model of a porous biomaterial and skull-dura mater system.
Design of real-time monitoring system for ICP
Xianfang has experience in designing a real-time monitoring system for intracranial pressure. She uses the strain-electrometric technology to build up the monitoring system involving the cerebral deformation imaging system, real-time dynamic online data display and analysis system, viscoelastic processing system, strain correction system, etc.
Mechanical Properties of natural tissues
Xianfang has experience of measuring a range of mechanical properties for each tissue, e.g. storage stiffness, loss stiffness, Poisson’s ratio and fluid including density, viscosity, etc. This research has included measurements of the viscoelastic properties and behavior of “skull-dura mater” system with the intracranial pressure change range.
