Dr Asiful is a research fellow at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Global Women's Health with an expertise in evidence synthesis. He is currently working on a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded research project focused on postpartum haemorrhage under Professor Arri Coomarasamy, OBE. He has a PhD in antiphospholipid syndrome, genetics, and evidence synthesis from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (QS rank 137). He has over . He has been ranked among the world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University, USA, for three consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023).

Research

Dr. Asiful is currently working with Professor Arri Coomarasamy, OBE to study postpartum haemorrhage (PPH), a severe form of bleeding that occurs after childbirth. He is using the evidence synthesis method to gather and analyse data from a massive number of studies. This will help them to understand the rates, causes, risk factors, complications, consequences, economic evaluations, prevention, and management of PPH. Dr. Asiful is passionate about using evidence synthesis to improve public and global health and better understand aspects of clinical medicine.
