Dr Mark Thaller is an Honorary Senior Clinical Research Fellow He is also a Neurology Registrar in the West Midlands. He is currently doing an MD under the supervision of Professor Sinclair, on the ovarian phenotype and adipose androgens in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. He is also actively working on further studies within the group including Clinical Trials.

Biography

Mark is currently working on his MD within the University 麻豆精选 with Professor Sinclair. He has been a West Midlands Neurology Registrar since 2017 and is planning on pursuing his specialist interest in headache management. He is working within the IIH and Headache Services as well as on current clinical trials.

Research

Mark’s research aims to improve the evidence base in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). An aspect is to establish the role of adipose tissue for the androgen excess seen in IIH as a potential driver and affecting lipid metabolism. As part of this, he is currently running some of the sub studies of the IIH Pressure trial.

His other research area is into determining whether there is an ovarian phenotype affecting fertility within IIH and this includes using the IIH:Life Database developed by the Birmingham team.
