Kelly is a member of the Women, Crime and Justice Research Group (WCJR). She is currently working on Workstream 3 of the Effective Women's Centres Project. 

She has both an academic and practice-based background having supported victim-survivors in a domestic abuse service following the completion of her PhD.  Kelly is also a member of the organising committee for the  .

Research Interests

Kelly’s research interests are primarily socio-legal and span both law and criminology. She has a sustained interest in the legal system and how our lived experiences are represented within this. Kelly’s PhD explored representations of women’s lived experiences of conflict-related sexual violence in the field of transitional justice.

Her personal research interests include sex and gender-based violence (particularly domestic abuse) and experiences of the criminal justice system.

Other activities

Kelly sits on the organising committee for the and works within the network’s Researcher Development team (including the VAWGRN Early Career Researcher Network and Special Interest Groups).
